Greetings to all our Esteemed CAPI members,
Hope everyone has been doing well and staying safe as we continue our fight against the Coronavirus pandemic. With the widespread distribution of vaccines, especially in Florida, HOPE is definitely helping us navigate this tough time.
14 percent of the people in the US have received their first vaccine dose and 6 percent are fully vaccinated in the USA.
As mentioned in my last newsletter, we are going to highlight a HOMETOWN HEALTHCARE HERO in each of our newsletters.
HOMETOWN HEALTHCARE HERO
It is with great pleasure I announce our very first HOMETOWN HEALTHCARE HERO:

Dr. Pinkal Patel
Dr. Pinkal Patel is a board certified Family Physician and has been practicing as an outpatient Primary Care physician since 2002. He is the owner of Oviedo Family Health Center. Our CAPI hometown health care hero is very passionate about serving his Central Florida community, but also loves to help those in need around the world with compassion and sincerity.
For seven years, Dr. Patel organized healthcare mission trips under the organization of People of Haiti. Through multiple trips his hard work and dedication helped provide healthcare to thousands of adults and children.
He has traveled on a healthcare mission to small town in Northern Peru with the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. There he ran a field hospital with multiple medical students, nurses, mental health care workers, and physicians to deliver healthcare to the locals. Dr. Patel also volunteers at University of Central Florida’s Dermatological Wound clinic in downtown Orlando and at Grace Medical. Both places help many underprivileged people in the Central Florida region.
Dr. Patel serves as Assistant Clinical Professor at Florida State University College of Medicine, and University of Central Florida College of Medicine.
I am asking you to please nominate a fellow healthcare worker, group or youth who you think has served our community in an exceptional manner. It is so important we show our future generation how doing good should be part of our natural foundation. Our CAPI executive committee will review the nominees and select our hero and some months we may have more then one which would be amazing.
Please send your nomination for our February Hero/Heroine/ Heroes by March 15th so we can feature them in our next newsletter. Please send them to: Tejal_Jamindar@hotmail.com & president@capimed.com
CAPI COVID 19 Hunger Relief Fund
I would like to kick off our CAPI COVID 19 Hunger Relief Fund again this year. Many of us are blessed and continue to be able to provide to our families, but there are so many in need of basic food supplies in the Central Florida Community. This fund has been established with the sole purpose of preventing hunger in Central Florida. All money contributed to the fund will directly be used to feed the hungry at food banks, soup kitchens, and homeless shelters in Orlando.
Niral and I will start the fund out with $1,000 donation. Please open your heart and lets fight hunger together as a community that has taken the oath to always heal.
Please remember that a $500 donation provides about 200 meals. Please give a smaller amount or larger, but remember that each penny will help heal hunger.
No one should go to bed hungry...definitely no one in our own backyard
Please donate generously.

Kindness: In our crazy hectic lives, please remember to take a minute and do a random act of kindness. Putting a smile on someone’s face is one of the best gifts one can receive.
